In conversation br with Aleksandra, br Head of GWS Acdemy
**Meet Aleksandra, Head of GWS Academy, through a conversation about her professional life, growth, and inspiration.**
Aleksandra (or Ola, as she's known) began her career at Global Wind Service in December 2016. She started as a Training Coordinator in GWS' office in Szczecin, Poland.
Two years later, she took on the role of Training Team Lead. After another two years in that position, Ola was asked to help build and develop the Global Wind Service Academy (now GWS Academy).Today, she is heading the academy. A member of the team since day one, she helped build it from the ground up. She has watched it grow and develop from an internal training program into a large, fully professional training academy with all necessary certifications in place.
My biggest motivation is all the amazing people I work with on daily basis and challenging tasks we are assigned to accomplish together.
We asked Ola about her role, her career development, and what motivates her in her day-to-day work. Here's what she had to say
What part of your job do you enjoy the most?
There's no such thing as a 'typical' day at GWS! My work is spontaneous, unpredictable, and adventurous in the best way possible. We're always evolving and striving for progress, so you're never bored.
Working at the GWS Academy, which is in constant development, means there's always something new to learn and contribute to.
The opportunities for growth are practically endless!
What are the growth opportunities in GWS?
Global Wind Service is the ideal workplace for ambitious individuals. I enjoy the dynamic, international setting, which allows for continuous personal and professional growth.
The vast array of tasks and roles at GWS presents numerous opportunities, ensuring everyone can find a suitable position either at the parent company or here with us at the academy - that keeps them engaged and fulfilled in their work.
For you, what makes GWS and the academy a great place to work?
Many things, but especially two things stand out:
First and foremost, there's flexibility. This applies not only to your working conditions - like hours and location - but also to how you approach your tasks and solve problems.
Secondly, you'll find trust. From day one, management places its confidence in you, and it's your responsibility to honor that. Your superiors won't micromanage your every move; they trust you to perform at your best. If you need support, you're encouraged to ask for it. This environment allows you to develop your skills and build self-assurance in your work, a stark contrast to the approach taken by many other companies.
