GWS Academy continues practical cooperation with Maritime University of Szczecin

GWS Academy has welcomed another group of students from the Maritime University of Szczecin as part of its ongoing cooperation focused on practical offshore wind education.

Second-year IPMEW students, specialising in the operation of wind power plants, took part in study visits at GWS Academy, where they gained practical insight into offshore wind turbine systems, installation processes and selected repair-related topics.

The cooperation gives students the opportunity to connect academic knowledge with the realities of working in the wind industry. During the sessions, participants learn more about the technical, operational and safety aspects of offshore wind projects, while also experiencing the practical character of industry-focused training.

This is already the fourth group of students to take part in training delivered in cooperation with GWS Academy. In total, more than 100 students have now benefited from this form of practical education.

“We highly value the opportunity for our students to participate in professionally delivered training focused on offshore systems, wind turbine installation and repair. The practical character of the sessions and the possibility to learn more about the realities of working in the industry are of particular importance. This is already the fourth year group of students taking part in training organised in cooperation with GWS Academy, which means that more than 100 students have already benefited from this form of education. Students from previous years have also given very positive feedback on the training and the opportunity to obtain the GWSA Offshore WTG Installation Fundamentals certificate,” said Jan Drzewieniecki from the Maritime University of Szczecin.

As part of the programme, students also have the opportunity to obtain the GWSA Offshore WTG Installation Fundamentals certificate, giving them an additional reference point as they prepare for future careers in the offshore wind sector.

For GWS Academy, cooperation with academic partners is an important way to support the next generation of wind professionals and strengthen the link between technical education and industry practice.

GWS Academy would like to thank the Maritime University of Szczecin for the continued trust and cooperation.
